January 20, 2009.....A Truly Great Day!!!!!

Where to start??? I feel so excited and happy and hopeful for the future! It was such an amazing feeling to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as our 44th President! I can't even imagine how great it must have been to actually be there in D.C. I feel so proud of America that we elected Obama! It 's so awesome to watch the peaceful transition of power and to see the huge crowds of people all there to witness this amazing moment in history! And to see so many many people here and all around the world so touched and moved! And all those who've never had any interest in the political process becoming involved...

Last night actually felt like Christmas Eve and today feels like a holiday!

Happy Inaguration Day everyone!!!!

I'm so excited!!!

I actually got my very first Treasury on Etsy!!!! I've been trying for a while and am so excited that I got in! Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out:-)

What in the World????

Ok so I bought our son new crayons for Christmas and thought it would be fun to throw in a package of silly scented crayons...whoa baby! These things are potent and not like a strong strawberry scent no sireee bob we are talking Ogre Odor and Alien Armpitand Dingy Dugeoun....YIKES! I have to laugh at the great names, am picturing a panel of little boys dreaming these up with one lone little girl...Princess Perfume (still stinky lol!). My little boy thinks they smell great lol may just be saying that though haha. As for me, I'll take good old Cherry, Strawberry, Orange scented crayons anyday!

Another Christmas...

And so another Christmas has come and gone! Nah not really, we've decided to celebrate the traditional 12 days of Christmas to stretch it out further so Christmas it'll still be at our house for another 7 days!!! Today we're making a gingerbread house! There's always so many fun things and so little time to do them all and rather than cram it all in BEFORE Christmas I decided to make the fun last! The twinkly glowing lights are still on, the Christmas music is still playing and best of all there's no expectations and no rushing around! Gotta love that! Plus with two illnesses in our family that took up the first two weeks of December :-( we're making up for lost time!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!! And are still enjoying the season as well:-)!

So this is my first blog post!

Hi and welcome to my blog! Currently completely wiped out from Christmas preparations! I am TRYING to keep it simple-er though this year, trying being the key word. My shop on Etsy and my family have been keeping me extra busy this year and I'm going to continue to add new stuff to my shop in the New Year! Lots of visions of stuff to make are dancing in my head! If only there were a few more hours in the day, I know I know we ALL wish that right!

Well I'll leave it at this and try to make myself do the dishes or something like that that desperately needs to be done! no fun, but so far I keep wishing and wishing but the dishes fairy has not shown up. A girl can hope though. And yes I think we may be one of only a few dozen households left without a dishwasher, shocking I know!

Don't forget to take time for you, and try to enjoy the "simple things" in life because those are the things that in the end truly matter. A gorgeous sunset, a fresh snowfall, an out of the blue hug and "I love you" from your little one or anyone special to you, your dog's happy wagging tail greeting when you come home every time you come home even if you just went out for a few minutes, your favorite song on the radio, a Christmas card in the mail....

Well with that, hope you have a great night and are having a wonderful holiday season!
